There's a massive debate going on right now about Chipmunks behaviour and musical choices he has made for his career.
I think the kid should be left alone, and by that I mean forgotten. I like his pop music for what it is, but I only listen to pop music whilst waiting for TMob customer services or any par like that.
I honestly think Grime was a stepping stone for him, which is fine. This doesn't mean he's bigger than the scene...he just needs a bigger scene to house his ego. I still commend him for being totally truthful about his hate for the underground scene. I feel alot of underground MC'S are less truthful than C, some of them love him so they won't be called haters and some of them hate him when they would rather be in his shoes! still.
The freestyle was sick - bars were real. The lack of grime beat was a strong statement but he is nowhere near Jay Z in terms of love for the roots. Jay Z's 1st commercial success was Hard Knock Life!!!
